Today, OrderedBytes announces an update to ControllerMate v4 (download).
New in ControllerMate v4.1 is the ability to import "Controller Type" files. These files contain detailed descriptions of specific devices, improving ControllerMate's compatibility with these devices. This improvement can take the form of compatibility with non-standard controls that ControllerMate previously ignored, ignoring standard controls which don't really exist on the device, or simply using more descriptive names for the standard controls that the device does have. More information about these downloadable files can be found on ControllerMate's Compatibility pages.
Along with the release of ControllerMate v4.1, several Controller Type files are available for devices from manufacturers such as Belkin, Logitech, and Microsoft. New Controller Type files will be made available as they are created. Users who are so inclined can assist with the creation of new downloadable Controller Type files by testing their devices which the ControllerMate Device Scanner.
ControllerMate v4.1 also contains updates to the following items:
- [FIXED] Eliminated a hang which was caused by the Mouse Button building block when used in a specific configuration in combination with other building blocks.
- [IMPROVED] The installer now allows the user to choose which ControllerMate drivers to install.
- [IMPROVED] Reduced the ranking of the ControllerMate drivers to allow users to use other custom drivers.
- [IMPROVED] Minor user interface modifications.
ControllerMate v4.1 is a recommended update for all users. _________________ Ken
