URL Building Block

The URL building block is used to open a location or item specified by a URL.

A URL building block has one ON/OFF input and one ON/OFF output. When the block's input turns ON, it attempts to open its item using the specified application.

To configure a URL building block, enter a URL into the address field in the Inspector window.

The building block can be configured to use the default application for the given URL, or a specific application using the popup menu in the Inspector window. The popup menu will identify the applications that OS X indicates are capable of opening the URL. An application that does not appear in the popup menu can be selected by choosing Choose other application… from the menu and browsing to the desired application.

In the example to the right, the building block will tell Safari to open www.orderedbytes.com.
