MIDI Note Group Building Block

The MIDI Note Group building block responds to multiple notes from a MIDI source. It can be configured to turn its output ON based on a combination of on and off notes.

A MIDI Note Group building block has no inputs and one ON/OFF output. As MIDI NoteOn and NoteOff messages are received, the output turns ON when the state of the notes matches the configuration of the building block. If the state of the notes does not match the configuration of the building block, the output turns OFF.

A MIDI Note Group building block is configured by selecting whether each note should be on or off. Messages received from notes that are configured with a dot (•) have no effect on the building block.

A MIDI Note Group building block can be configured to turn its output ON when any one or more of its MIDI notes have the correct state, or only when all of its notes have the correct state.

In the example to the right, the output of the block will turn ON if NoteOn messages for notes C3, D3, and D♯3 are received. The block will turn its output OFF when a NoteOff message is received for any of these notes.

Additional options are available using the common MIDI Source building block settings.
