Hijack ports and Sysex? Mon Jun 27, 2016 11:41 am  •   #10768

Hello,

Just like the configuration of a mouse/keyboard allows you to disable the device, I wish we could not pass a MIDI port on to the system from controllermate.

And any plans for a sysex building block?

Are you looking to hide one of ControllerMate's own ports from the system, or have ControllerMate prevent a particular device from being seen by other MIDI applications?

I would like to implement a SysEx building block that allows arbitrary data to be sent. I don't have a timeline fro that however.

Not Controllermate's port, the device port.

Thinking more, I don't think it's important to hide the port as much as swallow the incoming messages. If I do actions from MIDI input it is useful to not allow the original to continue downstream.

As per sysex, good to hear. I think there's many uses for triggering at least, even if we couldn't generate.

For now I can use Bome's translator but I see Controllermate taking some load off it in the future...
