MIDI guitar project - a huge thank you! Wed Aug 07, 2013 1:18 pm  •   #8532

Hello,

I recently made a sort of guitar shaped MIDI controller using a DIY USB-MIDI chip from Hale Micro.

A large part of the functionality comes from using ControllerMate as a MIDI translator, taking the raw MIDI signals in and transforming them into something that works.

This is a youtube of the whole project:

I'd like to say a huge thank you to the developer(s) and support here at ControllerMate. I f*cking love your program! and the support I got on this forum for a few key questions during development was really excellent.

My hope is that if some people from the custom MIDI controller communities see the video they might realise how awesome CM is for MIDI translating.

Very Happy

That is quite an interesting application of ControllerMate ... thanks for sharing the video. Smile

Can you send me a ControllerMate profile to let me see your current setup? A profile can be generated by running the Help > ControllerMate Profile command in ControllerMate, and then use the button at the bottom of the profile window to save the results to a file.

I would specifically like to look at the page that has the large number of connections. If I can deduce the basic function, maybe I can modify a building block to simplify those connections.

Hi Ken,

that would be super cool! I'll spend a bit of time this weekend writing out exactly what it does as best I can so you're (hopefully) not peering into the mists quite as much when you have a look at it.

here is the profile file and also an export of just 1 of the complex pages:

the individual export has a bunch of notes attached to the blocks to help you make more sense of it.

Thanks in advance for any time you spend looking at this Ken Smile
