ControllerMate Compatibility
The basic ControllerMate installation is compatible with a wide variety of input devices. Devices which have a standard Human Interface
Devices (HID) interface will be seen by ControllerMate without the need for additional drivers. This includes standard desktop input devices
(keyboards, mice and trackballs), common gaming devices (joysticks and gamepads), as well as other types of devices (telephony devices and
uninterruptible power supplies).
The ControllerMate installer includes special drivers that may optionally be installed to provide more customization options
for keyboards and mice. In most cases, if a manufacturer's driver for a keyboard or mouse has already been installed, then
that driver will continue to be used even if ControllerMate is installed.
In some cases, a device may contain generic HID information or may use non-standard controls. ControllerMate's compatibility with
these devices can be improved by downloading an optional "Controller Type" file and importing it into ControllerMate. For some devices,
this will remove some generic controls which don't really exist on the device. For other devices, it may add non-standard controls that
ControllerMate would not otherwise see. (ControllerMate v4.1 or newer is required to import Controller Type files.)
The links on the left side of this page lead to some compatibility comments for a number of devices. If your device is not listed,
it does not necessarily mean that it is not compatible with ControllerMate. Most likely, a device which is not listed has not yet
been specifically tested with ControllerMate.
